MEDICATIONS

Each infant stricken with SMA, Type I is different.   We have included this only for your information.  All medical decisions should be made in conjunction with your doctor.

Wyatt struggled with reflux and gastric motility issues.  Under the guidance and care of our Pediatric Gastroenterologist Wyatt used the following prescriptive medications to help him:

bulletZANTAC        For gastric reflux
bulletREGLAN         For gastric dysmotility

Wyatt also seemed to have less discomfort when we used over-the-counter Infant Glycerin Suppositories, and "Baby Lax" Glycerin Enema.  He also did well after we cut back his calorie per kilo intake for 90 to 80-85 calories per kilo.  In fact when we modified his intake he finally began to gain weight.
